Help with Our Little Thing

Answers to the things people ask most. If yours isn't here, email me, a real person reads it.

Please include your device, OS version, and app version. Don't include passwords, payment details, pairing invite codes, or your answers in an email.

Subscriptions and purchases

Restore purchases

Open Settings inside the app and choose the restore option. You must be signed in to the same App Store or Google Play account you originally bought with. Restoration depends on the store, so if nothing appears, check which account your device is signed in to, then try again.

How do I cancel?

Premium is a subscription, so cancel it through the store that took the payment. On Apple: device Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. On Google Play: Play Store → profile menu → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel it.

Is there a free trial?

A trial is offered only when the App Store or Google Play checkout sheet confirms you're eligible and shows the terms. The checkout sheet is the authoritative disclosure for price, billing period, renewal, and any trial.

I paid but Premium isn't showing

First try restore, above. If it still doesn't appear, check that the store account on this device is the one that made the purchase. If you're paired, note that an entitlement bought by one account can authorise benefits for the pair, but ownership stays with the purchasing store account. If you're still stuck, email me with the store you bought from and the approximate date.

Refunds

Refunds for app-store purchases are decided by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by JPott Studios. Request a refund through the store you bought from. Deleting the app does not request a refund.

Using the app

Can I change my lane?

You choose romantic or friendship when you set up. The lane changes wording throughout, the same 150 ideas read as date ideas for romance and things to do for friendship. You can change it in the app's settings.

Do we need two phones?

No. Our Little Thing works on one phone: answer, hand it over, reveal together. Pairing two phones is optional. Pairing needs two separate accounts and a network connection.

Reminders aren't arriving

Reminders need notification permission. Check your device settings for Our Little Thing and confirm notifications are allowed. Also check that Focus, Do Not Disturb, or battery-saver settings aren't holding them back. Reminders are optional, the app works without them.

Adding a date to my calendar isn't working

Adding a date idea or special date to your calendar needs calendar permission. Check your device settings for Our Little Thing. If you decline, everything else in the app still works.

A photo on a memory is missing

Our Little Thing keeps a private copy of a photo you choose for a memory. If that file is removed or damaged, the memory's text can remain while the image is unavailable. Memory photos are local to the phone.

Pairing

Old or wrong pair

Disconnect this phone removes this phone's local pair key but does not revoke the other member. Revoke pair for both blocks future shared access for both accounts.

Can my partner still see what I shared?

Revoking or disconnecting can stop future access. It cannot erase information the other person already viewed, remembered, photographed, or separately saved on their own device. Please read sharing safely before you share an invite code.

Is what we share readable by the service?

Shared records are encrypted on your device before upload, and the pairing service is designed not to receive plaintext answers. Encryption reduces exposure, but no security measure is perfect, keep your device and account password secure.

I'm worried about my safety

Pairing is optional. If using a shared feature could place you at risk, use the local-only features on one phone, or stop using the paired service. Do not use the app to monitor or pressure another person, and do not accept an invite code you feel pressured into accepting.

Your data

Back up or move to a new phone

Export a backup file from Settings, then import it on the new device. Our Little Thing backups are ordinary JSON files and are not encrypted by the app store them somewhere you trust. The backup does not carry your memory photo files; those stay on the original phone.

Protect your privacy

Your answers stay on your device. If you export a backup, you choose where it goes, and from that point the destination's own privacy practices apply. Read the privacy policy for the full picture.

Delete my data

See the data and account deletion guide for step-by-step instructions.
