Data deletion
Delete your data
Our Little Thing keeps your answers on your device. Here is how to remove them, how to end a pairing, and how to cancel the subscription.
Three separate actions
Delete local data
Removes content from this phone. It does not delete your pairing account, the encrypted service copy, an exported file, or anything on a paired person's device.
Delete the pairing account
Removes the pairing login and its service-side records. Your local Our Little Thing content stays on the phone unless you delete it too.
Cancel the subscription
Stops future renewal through Apple or Google. Deleting local data, the app, or the pairing account does not cancel billing.
Delete data on your device
Most of what Our Little Thing holds is local to your phone:
- Delete individual items: remove answers, notes, dates, memories, photos, or custom questions with their in-app controls.
- Delete the app: removing Our Little Thing removes its private app storage from the device. Also remove any device backup that could restore it.
Deleting is permanent. Local data and any encryption keys may be unrecoverable once removed. Export a backup first if you might want your history later. Remember the backup does not carry your memory photo files.
End a pairing and delete the account
Pairing is optional. If you never turned it on, there is no account and nothing to delete. You can stop here.
- Disconnect this phone: removes this phone's local pair key. It does not revoke the other member.
- Revoke pair for both: blocks future shared access for both accounts.
- Delete pairing account: open the pairing screen, re-enter the account email and password, and choose this to delete the pairing login and its service-side records. Local Our Little Thing content remains on the phone.
Revocation cannot remove information a partner already saw or separately saved. Disconnecting and revoking stop future access through the app. They cannot reach what the other person already read, remembered, photographed, or copied somewhere else.
Cancel your subscription
Use the subscription-management screen for the store account that made the purchase:
- Apple:: device Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions.
- Google Play: Play Store → profile menu → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Store navigation can change. Refer to Apple or Google support if the subscription does not appear. If you are paired, note that an entitlement stays with the store account that bought it; ending a pair does not transfer or cancel it.
What deletion does not do
Deleting the app or your pairing account does not cancel or refund your subscription. Cancel through Apple or Google, who also decide refunds under their own policies.
Deletion also does not reach:
- A paired person's device. Content they already saw or saved is theirs to remove.
- Backups you exported yourself. Once you saved a backup to Files, email, or cloud storage, only you can delete it from there.
- Operating-system backups. iCloud or Android device backups are controlled by you and your platform.
- Purchase records. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat keep their own transaction records under their policies.
If you need help
If you cannot reach the in-app controls. For example you no longer have the device, email jpottstudios@gmail.com and describe what you need removed. Include the email address used for the pairing account. Do not include the account password, a pairing invite code, your answers, or a backup file.
Because most content is local, JPott Studios may have no copy to locate or delete. Shared records are encrypted on your device before upload, so deletion removes the stored records rather than decrypting them. We may ask for limited verification to protect the account from an unauthorised deletion request.
