How we write and check our guides

The guides on this site are written by JPott Studios, the studio that makes Our Little Thing. This page explains how we write them, how we check the facts, and how we treat other apps.

How are the guides written?

Each guide starts from a question people really ask and answers it in the first two sentences. The rest is practical, general information. We mention Our Little Thing only where it genuinely fits, usually in a short box near the end, so you can use the advice without the app.

How do we check the facts?

About Our Little Thing: we check what a guide says the app does against the app itself and this website. We never state a feature we have not checked.

About other apps: we read their own websites and store listings and put the date we read them. If we cannot confirm something, we leave it out instead of guessing.

About research: we only cite studies that exist, and we say what they actually found, including when the result is small or mixed. We do not invent numbers, quotes or reviews.

How do we compare apps?

Fairly and kindly. We give the other app credit first, say where it is the better fit, and say where ours fits better. Each comparison has a short "choose this one if" guide. We do not mock other apps, and we tell you when two apps do different jobs rather than pretending one beats the other.

What about health and safety?

Our Little Thing is for conversation, games and planning. It is not couples therapy, counselling or relationship advice from a professional.

How often are guides reviewed?

We review our guides and the facts in them about every 90 days. The date on a guide changes only when its content really changes. Prices are written "as of" a month, because stores can change them.

What if you find a mistake?

Please tell us. Use the support page or email jpottstudios@gmail.com with the page and what is wrong. We correct confirmed mistakes quickly.
