72 would you rather questions for couples
Two options, one choice, and usually a surprisingly passionate debate. Perfect for car rides, queues and lazy evenings.
These 72 would you rather questions for couples start easy, get sweeter in the middle, and end somewhere completely ridiculous. Read one out, both pick an answer, then explain yourselves. That's the whole game.
It needs no cards, no setup and nobody loses. Between two people who care about each other, it's also a sneaky way to learn how the other one thinks: what they value, what they'd never give up, and what they'll happily argue about for twenty minutes for no reason at all. Every question here is written fresh for this page.

How do you play would you rather as a couple?
The classic way is simple. Take turns reading a question, both answer, and both explain. Follow-up questions are very much encouraged. Once that feels familiar, try one of these twists:
- Guess first. Before your partner answers, guess what they'll pick. Keep score if you're competitive, or just enjoy being right.
- Answer apart, then reveal. Write your answers down separately, then compare. You'll be surprised how often you match, and how often you really don't.
- Lightning round. Ten questions, no explanations, three seconds each. Then pick the one answer you want to hear more about.
If you'd rather talk than play, our 100 questions to ask your partner go deeper, and would you rather makes a lovely warm-up for one of these cheap date night ideas at home.
Where Our Little Thing fits
The “answer apart, then reveal” way of playing is what Our Little Thing is built around. Each day there's one question you both answer on your own, and the answers only show once you've both replied. It’s made for couples, close friends and family. The app also has a games section, including a quick game called This or That where you each choose privately and then see where you match. One game is open on the free plan, and Premium opens the full set.
Want one fresh question tonight without downloading anything? Try our free question of the day. For slower conversations, there are 60 questions for a new relationship, and you can take the game to your friends with 60 questions to ask your best friend. And if you want to know what kind of date night suits you two, take our date night quiz together.
Questions people ask
How do you play would you rather as a couple?
One of you reads a question with two options, and you both pick one and explain why. That's the whole game. The fun is in the reasons, the debates and the follow-up questions.
What makes a good would you rather question?
Two options that are both tempting, or both a little annoying, so neither answer is obvious. Questions tied to real life, like travel, food or home habits, often teach you the most about each other.
Is would you rather good for a first date?
Yes. It's light and quick, and it gives you plenty to talk about without asking anything too personal. Stick to the everyday, food, travel and silly questions early on.
How many questions should we play in one go?
Anywhere from five on a short drive to twenty on a slow evening. Stop while it's still fun. You can always pick up where you left off another night.
