Our Little Thing vs Paired: which daily question app?
One question a day, answered in private and revealed together, for the people you love. Here is how Our Little Thing compares with Paired, and who should pick which.
Our Little Thing gives you one question a day to answer in private and reveal together, with a partner, a best friend or a family member, and puts games, date ideas and love notes in the same app. Paired is a well-known app made for couples, built around guided topics.
If you want one daily habit that works with more than one person you love, choose Our Little Thing. If you want expert-guided relationship topics for you and your partner, Paired is aimed at that. Details about Paired come from its own pages, read in October 2026, and our prices are as of October 2026.
Our Little Thing or Paired: which fits the people in your life?
Picture it. It is nine o’clock, the dishes are done, and you are on the sofa. One of you says, “Did you do the question today?” You each answer on your own, and then you see what the other said. That moment is what both apps share.
What differs is everything around it, and who else can be in it. Our Little Thing was built for couples, best friends and family, each in their own lane. Here is the side-by-side.

What is Our Little Thing built for?
One simple idea: a question a day, asked of the people you love, answered honestly because nobody can peek. Answers stay hidden until you have both answered, then you reveal them together. Most of the fun, and some of the surprises, are in that reveal.
When you set up, you pick a lane: romantic, friendship or family. Each lane has its own question packs and games, so a question meant for a partner never reaches your mum or your best friend. Premium gives you up to five private spaces, so your partner, your best friend and your sister can each have their own.
You can begin on one phone. Answer, hand it over, let the other person answer, then reveal together. Pairing two phones is optional and needs Premium on the phone that sends the invite, and joining an invite is free. What you share between paired phones is locked on your phone before it is sent.

What else can you do besides the daily question?
Plenty, and it is all in the same place. There are 879 questions in 32 packs, so you do not run out. With Premium you can write up to 200 of your own, and you can speak your answers instead of typing.
Then there are more than 40 games, each with 20 or more rounds, such as This or That, Same Page and Truth Reveal. There are more than 100 date ideas you can filter by at home, outside, food, creative, active, low cost and apart, and any idea can become a plan with a mood, time, budget, place, backup plan and checklist. Thirteen of them are made for being apart, like cooking the same recipe on a call.
Our Little Thing at a glance
What is inside the app, from the app itself.
You also get love notes, special dates with countdowns, private photo memories, an Our Story timeline and a weekly recap. If you are looking for something to ask tonight, try our guide to questions to ask your partner.
Our Little Thing is a gentle tool for connection, not counselling. Please seek qualified help when you need it.
What does an evening look like?
With Our Little Thing. You answer the question while the rice cooks, hand the phone over, and wait for the reveal. Then you play a round of This or That, because it is Friday and you are tired. Your sister has her own space in the family lane, with completely different questions. On Saturday you pick an “at home, low cost” date idea, and the plan builder turns it into a checklist.
With Paired. You both open the app, answer the daily question and see your partner’s answer. Later in the week you start a guided topic about money and read it side by side. It feels like a short programme you are doing together, with an expert in the room.

What the evening is built around.
They are different evenings. Ours is a mix of things to do with different people. For ideas that need no app at all, see our guide to how to talk to your partner more deeply.

Where is Paired stronger?
In guidance and focus. Paired is made by Better Half Limited and built entirely around couples. Its Premium side offers structured programmes with daily activities and expert-guided topics, such as household finances and love languages, and its website advertises 1000+ expert-led quizzes and games. If you and your partner keep returning to one subject and want a structured way in, Paired is aimed at exactly that.
It is also a single, short daily routine for two. Its listing says it is not medical or mental health advice, and the same is true of ours.
Which should you choose?
Which one is for you?
Find the sentence that sounds like you.
Choose Our Little Thing if
- You want the same daily habit with a partner, a best friend, a parent or a sibling.
- You want games, date ideas and love notes beside the daily question.
- You want to start on one phone, with nothing to set up, and pair later.
- You want teens to be able to join your friendship or family space.
- You want one Premium subscription to cover both of you.
Choose Paired if
- You and your partner want expert-guided topics on specific subjects.
- You want an app built only around your relationship.
Both are free to start, so try each for a week at the same time each evening, and ask on day seven which one you would open on a tired Wednesday. Ideas like cheap date night ideas at home work with either.
Fair comparison note: Paired is a product name or trademark of its owner. JPott Studios is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by it. What we say here comes from its own pages and public store listings, read in October 2026, and may have changed since, so please check the source before you decide. Our Little Thing and Paired: your questions
Is Our Little Thing free?
Yes, it is free to use. Premium is $6.99 a month or $39.99 a year, as of October 2026, and one subscription covers both of you. Paired is free to download with in-app purchases, so check the App Store for its current prices.
Can I use it without my partner?
In Our Little Thing, yes. It works on one phone with someone beside you, and you can pair later. Paired’s App Store page describes pairing with your partner, so it is built for two.
Is there an app like Paired for friends?
Our Little Thing has a friendship lane with its own questions and games, and a family lane too. Each space is private to you and one other person.
Do we both need to pay?
No. One Premium subscription covers both of you, and joining an invite from a paired partner is free.
Do both apps hide the answer until you both reply?
In Our Little Thing, answers stay hidden until you have both answered, then you reveal them together. Paired’s App Store page says partner responses become visible once you have both answered, so on this point the two apps work alike.
Is either of them therapy?
No. Our Little Thing is a gentle tool for connection, not counselling, and Paired’s listing says it is not medical or mental health advice. Please seek qualified help when you need it.
